Saint Cecilia relics found in catholic church in Myadel

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Relics of Saint Cecilia were found in the church of Madonna the Scapular at the Carmelite Monastery in Myadel, BelTA learned from Father Superior of the monastery Yuri Kulay.

The box with holy relics inside was cemented in the wall of the church. The information about the box was discovered in the archives in Krakow. A photo of the church made in 1930s had an inscription saying that one of its fathers hid the relics in a special cave which was plastered beforehand to protect it against moisture and wind. There was a description how to find the box.

“We found the relics of Saint Cecilia (Roman martyr of the 3rd century), Pope Gregory I and Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face. Their authenticity is confirmed by the certificates with signatures and stamps. Parish books of baptisms and weddings, a list of people buried and born in the 19th and 20th centuries were also found together with the box”, Yuri Kulay said.
