MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - The CIS is facing unprecedented challenges and threats, Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia Alexander Bortnikov said at the 52nd meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services in Minsk on 1 June, BelTA has learned.
“The world is on the brink of a radical transformation, and the CIS is facing unprecedented challenges and threats. The USA, the UK and their NATO allies are openly pursuing a policy of disintegration of the post-Soviet space and actual liquidation of the national sovereignty of our states. Washington and London are carrying out a direct interference in the internal affairs of CIS countries,” Alexander Bortnikov said.

According to the director of the Federal Security Service, Western countries are trying to destroy trade, economic, cultural and historical ties between the peoples of the CIS. “The West's introduction of tools to monitor the sanctions regime is actually intended to establish total and long-term control over the interstate and domestic financial flows in the CIS,” Alexander Bortnikov said.
