MOSCOW, 2 February (BelTA) – A solemn ceremony to hand over 17 buses made by Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ) to the Zlatoust municipality, Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia took place on 2 February, the press service of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia told BelTA.

The modern semi low-floor buses MAZ-206 are fitted with automatic gearboxes, navigation equipment, diesel engines and match environmental standards. Zlatoust residents could appreciate advantages and merits of the Belarusian vehicles as early as in 2021 when the city acquired the first 12 buses like that.

During a working trip to Zlatoust the head of the Yekaterinburg branch of the Belarusian embassy Sergei Chichuk held meetings with Chelyabinsk Oblast Vice Governor Stanislav Mosharov, Zlatoust Mayor Maksim Pekarsky, and Chelyabinsk Oblast Deputy Economic Development Minister Dmitry Glukharev. Matters concerning future bilateral cooperation, including shipments of Belarusian machines and vehicles to Southern Ural, the opening of a MAZ trade and service center, and the upcoming opening of a Chelyabinsk Oblast trading house in Minsk in March were discussed.
