Russia sends documents on Phase III trials of Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to Belarus

MINSK, 25 August (BelTA) – Russia has sent the necessary documents to Belarus to conduct a joint study of the coronavirus vaccine developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Russia's Ministry of Health, TASS learned from Russia's Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko.

“The documents on the vaccine have been sent; they are studying them now; we suggested holding clinical trials and they confirmed that they are interested in it. The number of people will be determined by the design of clinical trials,” the minister said during his working trip to Kaluga Oblast.

A reminder, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin agreed that Belarus will be the first country to receive the Russian coronavirus vaccine. Citizens of Belarus will voluntarily take part in Phase III trials of this vaccine.
