Roundtable on EYOF 2019 security challenges being held in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, 24 April (BelTA - FENA) - Roundtable on "Security at EYOF 2019" is being held in Sarajevo today to point to importance of timely planning of responses to all security challenges that the event such as the European Youth Winter Festival carries.

Roundtable is organized by the Faculty for Criminal Justice, Criminology, and Security Studies of the University in Sarajevo in cooperation with "EYOF 2019" d.o.o., and it was emphasized that this scientific-professional gathering holds high importance, considering the importance of EYOF.

Dean of the Faculty Nedžad Korajlić said that EYOF 2019 is important not only for cities of Sarajevo and Istočno Sarajevo, but for the entire BiH and the region.

"As a faculty we tried to find better ways to organize the event with as less security risk as possible. We will use all our scientific and professional capacities to make sure everything is organized well. In case we need help from colleagues from the region, we have their support and they are at our disposal," said Korajlić.

Director of EYOF Senahid Godinjak added that security aspect is one of the most important issues.

"Goal of this roundtable is to collect as much data as possible so we can plan every stage, from arrival of participants to BiH to departure. It has already been confirmed that 48 countries and more than 1500 competitors will participate and that is a security challenge in a complex structure in BiH. We need to connect all security agencies, from the accommodation, Olympic village and competition to the opening and closing ceremony," explained Godinjak.
