MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – The reconstruction of the automobile border checkpoint Urbany at the Belarusian-Latvian border will be finished in 2020, representatives of the State Customs Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
New infrastructure will increase the border checkpoint's designed throughput capacity from 270 vehicles per day to 1,000 vehicles per day. The Belarusian road to the border will be expanded up to three lanes in each direction in order to rule out any bottlenecks. The number of clearance channels will be increased up to eight for incoming traffic and up to six for outgoing traffic.
