Recently signed agreements viewed as powerful base of Belarus-Turkey cooperation

MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The cooperation agreements signed during the recent visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Turkey have created a powerful base for further advancement of Belarus-Turkey interaction, BelTA learned from Ambassador of Turkey to Belarus Kezban Nilvana Darama.

The ambassador noted: “Trade and economic sphere represents the backbone of our relations. As for the political dialogue, everything is excellent. With these agreements signed, we now have a powerful base for advancing the relations. And cooperation in the sphere of education also acquired a foundation among other ones.”

A celebration of National Sovereignty and Children's Day was arranged for Turkish kids and kids from mixed families in the Minsk-based center for supplementary education of children and youth Kontakt on 23 April. The first event of the kind in Belarus took place in secondary school No.25 in Minsk in 2016. In 2017 Turkish kids went on a tour of the Belarusian confectionery factory Kommunarka. In 2018 they went on a trip to Kopyl District, Minsk Oblast.

“Now a group of kids from Kopyl gymnasium No.1, which welcomed us back then, is staying in Turkey for recreation,” the ambassador noted.

Meanwhile, 11 kids from Antalya are staying in Belarus. Students of a Turkish school were so impressed by the tales of their Turkish teacher, who had worked in Belarus, about Belarusian nature and culture that they decided to see everything with their own eyes. They spectated and participated in the international celebration in Minsk on 23 April.

The celebration was arranged through joint efforts of the Embassy of Turkey in Belarus and the supplementary education center Kontakt. Representatives of the center offered creative workshops, games, and other kinds of interactive entertainment. Turkish sponsors also contributed to the program, including with oriental sweets. The celebratory concert featured numbers performed by young Belarusian and Turkish artistes.
