MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) - The draft of the new national security concept is almost finished and will be submitted for consideration at the Belarusian People's Congress, Deputy State Secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Aleksandr Rakhmanov told the media, BelTA has learned.
A discussion platform with Minsk activists to discuss the draft National Security Concept of the Republic of Belarus was hosted by the Minsk City Council.
"The draft national security concept differs from the current one by more than 70%," Aleksandr Rakhmanov said. “We have studied all regulatory legal acts, as well as similar documents both in the post-Soviet countries and abroad. We have taken into account all the new approaches to ensuring national security in the world, and we can say that the head of state and the Security Council have generally approved the draft."
The updated national security concept is now being actively discussed at discussion platforms. "Indeed, there are questions and proposals with regard to new approaches to economy and social matters. All these proposals will be accumulated and considered for the possibility of their inclusion in the draft. But in general (which is appreciated by people), the draft national security concept is a high-quality, almost finished document to be submitted to Belarusian People's Congress," Aleksandr Rakhmanov added.
