Prime minister awards outstanding Belarusians

MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko bestowed government awards upon various outstanding citizens on 18 May, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “Today we thank you for labor, talent, and dedication to your work. The best representatives of worker collectives of our country are present during this ceremony. Upon instructions of the Belarus president well-deserved government awards have been presented to those, who implement significant investment projects with honor, those, who move forward and make a significant contribution to the development of our country with their diligence and labor.”

The prime minister noted that there were representatives of different professions in the hall. “You've committed feats of labor at a special time – the time when our country feels the pressure of sanctions, restrictions, and other limitations. It is in these complicated times that the contribution of every specific individual to the common cause is manifested most vividly. There are no doubts that we will successfully overcome all challenges with this kind of people. Belarus' development hinges on dedication to the line of work that every one of us has chosen as a lifetime commitment,” Roman Golovchenko stressed.

The official went on saying: “Today we celebrate the serious contribution of manufacturing sector workers to the development of the country. Thanks to you issues of technological sovereignty are being successfully addressed and import independence tasks are being successfully accomplished. I cannot help but mention that for the entire last year the entire manufacturing sector demonstrated high results and confident growth. In 2022 the industry's output growth rate totaled 123.5% as against 2021. We've been seeing positive dynamics this year, too: in Q1 2023 the growth rate totaled 125% as against the same period of last year. Despite complicated conditions our manufacturing sector is on a trajectory of confident and dynamic growth. Worker collectives should be credited with the accomplishment.”

Culture and education workers received Francysk Skaryna medals in recognition of their significant personal contributions to the development and multiplication of the spiritual and intellectual potential, the cultural legacy. “Your efforts are of huge significance for the Belarusian society. May this award stimulate you to secure new creative successes,” Roman Golovchenko added.

Representatives of public administration agencies deserved awards as well. “The realization of large-scale state projects and routine tasks at the local level depends on professionalism of managerial personnel. A civil servant is the face of the government. You have to always remember it and carry the status of the civil servant with dignity,” the prime minister told the awardees.

Healthcare workers were traditionally among the awardees. “Like no one else you know the true value of a human life and you stand guard over the health of the nation. Today one can state with pride that Belarusian healthcare has reached the highest standards. The state will continue providing all kinds of support to it,” the head of government assured.

“I am convinced you will continue along the path of success and will reach even higher career and professional accomplishments. Every one of you represents the driving force of hardworking and stable Belarus. Certainly, we need new accomplishments, achievements, results. Your energy and the high feeling of responsibility will help us reach these significant and ambitious goals,” Roman Golovchenko concluded.

Accomplishments of a significant number of Belarusians were distinguished with medals for Labor Merits. Among them were workers of SvetlogorskKhimvolokno, Amkodor, Minsk Cogwheel Plant, Belarusian State University, Belarusbank, and other organizations.
