Presidential Sports Club head wishes Happy New Year to kids in Soligorsk District

MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – Chairman of the Central Council of the Presidential Sports Club Dmitry Lukashenko and his family have taken part in the traditional New Year’s Eve charity campaign Our Children, BelTA has learned.

The head of the Presidential Sports Club along with his wife Anna and their daughter Aleksandra wished the kids at a social and educational center in Soligorsk District a happy holiday. The center takes care of 24 kids between the ages of 5 and 18, who are going through tough times. The guests organized a New Year’s Circus performance for the children, with the children themselves participating in the performance as artists.
“Visiting orphanages and specialized centers is a long-standing New Year’s tradition for our family. It is very important to gift children care and bring them joy on the eve of this great holiday,” said Dmitry Lukashenko. “Today we felt a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, very similar to that of home. Thanks to the children we also had fun and felt the approach of the New Year. I would like to wish for the children’s wishes to definitely come true.”

The social and pedagogical center in Soligorsk received a large TV set as a gift and the guests also gifted the children sweets, toys, and sports equipment.
“Our team works to ensure that every child returns to their family and feels valued and needed. The key goal is to create conditions here that are as close to home as possible,” said Zhanna Tereshko, director of the center. “It’s nice to feel such support from the state. The Our Children campaign is a celebration not only for the children, but also for adults, who want to surround children in difficult situations with care and warmth and draw attention to this problem.”
Earlier President of the National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko and prominent Belarusian athletes joined the Our Children campaign by visiting the Svetlogorsk District Center for Special Education and Rehabilitation.
