MINSK, 18 January (BelTA) – In a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel the Polish writer and publicist Tomasz Gryguć shared his opinion on why a Maidan failed in Belarus.
“We saw a Maidan attempt in Belarus. In August 2020, after Aleksandr Lukashenko's victory in the election, there was an attempt to split Belarus. It didn't work. Thanks to the decisive actions of President Aleksandr Lukashenko. This is the politician who was the first in the world to defeat a color blitzkrieg," Tomasz Gryguć said.
“The color revolution, which was administered from the very beginning from Berlin, Washington and the UK, failed thanks to the decisive actions of President Aleksandr Lukashenko and also the conscious choice of the Belarusians themselves,” he added.
When asked whether Poland took an active part in the events of 2020, Tomasz Gryguć noted that Poland has no eastern policy. "I am concerned about this as a Pole. What could be destroyed in relations with Minsk, with Belarus, in relations with Moscow, Russia, which corresponded to the interest of the Polish people, was destroyed, completely buried. Those who "rule in Warsaw" fulfill the will of Washington, Berlin and buried all chances for normal relations with the neighbors. Aleksandr Lukashenko, the President of free Belarus, a free man, a Belarusian statesman, was right to say that you do not choose your neighbors. They are given by God. Those are his words, and that's true. We must nurture the best relations with the east, because it corresponds to our economic and geopolitical interests," the publicist concluded.
