MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – A police cooperation center opened in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone on 22 October, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Internal Affairs Ministry.
The center faces a lot of tasks that Belarusian and Chinese specialists have to solve together, Belarus Deputy Internal Affairs Minister Nikolai Melchenko said as he took part in the opening ceremony. The center will enhance cooperation in ensuring security in the industrial park. It will also host educational events to foster legal culture and promote lawful conduct of residents and legal entities based in the Great Stone. The center will also facilitate exchange of best practices, latest technologies and methods in various areas of law enforcement activities.
In turn, Duang Daqi, head of the delegation of China's Ministry of Public Security, said that the center will be an effective means to establish mutually beneficial cooperation between law enforcement agencies of the two countries.
Ambassador of China to Belarus Cui Qiming also attended the ceremony. He noted that Belarus-China cooperation within the Belt and Road initiative continues to gain momentum. He hailed the Great Stone as the most important joint project of the two countries.
The China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone is a territorial unit occupying 112.5km2 and offering a special legal regime to enable comfortable business operation terms. It is now home to 55 resident companies.More about Society
