Plans to step up research cooperation between Belarusian, Finnish universities

MINSK, 24 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Finland are ready to step up research cooperation between universities, representatives of the Belarusian diplomatic mission to Helsinki told BelTA.

These matters were discussed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Finland Aleksei Samosuyev visited Tampere. The ambassador met with Executive Director of the Tampere city administration Teppo Rantanen. The sides discussed topical aspects of Belarus' cooperation with the Finnish region. An agreement to work on new avenues of cooperation was reached.

Apart from that, Aleksei Samosuyev met with Vice President of University of Tampere Juha Teperi. The sides mentioned positive dynamics of cooperation between the Finnish university and Belarus. Representatives of the university received concrete proposals from Belarusian universities concerning the invigoration of bilateral academic exchange programs, joint research activities, including as part of academic programs of the European Union.
