Plans to set up tech park at Belarusian-Russian University

SOCHI, 15 February (BelTA) – There are plans to set up a technology park at the Belarusian-Russian University, Belarus' Education Minister Igor Karpenko said at the meeting to discuss humanitarian cooperation with participation of the presidents of Belarus and Russia on 15 February, BelTA has learned.

“The Union State is implementing a project to introduce technological advancements to facilitate learning. The project is running at the Belarusian-Russian University. It would be great to create a technology park at the university to bring together young entrepreneurs, researchers and creative people from Russia and Belarus,” the minister said.

Speaking about support for the talented youth, Igor Karpenko suggested developing an exchange program aimed at teaching children and enhancing qualifications of educators at the Sirius Education Center in Russia and the National Children's Technology Park and the Zubrenok center in Belarus. He believes that the project should be funded by the Union State budget.

The minister also suggested developing a series of teaching aids in various disciplines, which would help teachers of Belarus and Russia maintain “invisible methodological contacts”.

In his address during the meeting, Igor Karpenko focused on patriotic upbringing. One of his suggestions was to send a themed train from Brest to Vladivostok with young people on it in the buildup to the 75th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
