
MINSK, 25 May (BelTA) – The CSTO Defense Ministers Council session was held in Minsk under the chairmanship of Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin on 25 May, BelTA has learned.
The meeting was attended by the defense ministers of the CSTO states, the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov and Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov. The participants of the meeting discussed challenges and threats facing the regions of collective security. They also charted out plans to improve the CSTO crisis response system.
At the plenary session, the CSTO Defense Ministers Council approved a plan for the joint training of command bodies and the CSTO collective security forces and means for 2024. One of the most significant events was the joint command-staff and special exercise with the CSTO collective forces.

In addition to that, the participants of the meeting approved the list of activities for the joint training of command bodies and the CSTO collective security forces and means until 2030. The list of activities is the basis for making plans for joint training activities that are carried out by the CSTO Joint Staff together with the CSTO Secretariat, and other ministries and departments.
Some changes were made to the plan for the joint training of command bodies and the CSTO collective security forces and means for 2023. A provision was approved on supplies of material resources for the CSTO collective forces.
The CSTO Defense Ministers Council decided to submit to the Collective Security Council documents on the institution of the medal Together Towards Peace to reward individuals who contribute to the peacekeeping activities of the CSTO.
