Over 5,500 units of equipment, weapons shipped to Belarusian army in 2022

MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – Over 5,500 units of equipment and weapons were bought and shipped to the army in 2022, BelTA learned from Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin during the opening ceremony of the international arms and defense technology expo MILEX 2023.

Viktor Khrenin said: “Parameters of many products of the Belarusian defense industry are on par with well-known world analogs. They are ahead of them in a number of areas. Most of the products on display at the expo are already in service with the Belarusian army. A number of them are going through trials.”

The defense minister noted that over 5,500 units of various weapon systems, military and special hardware were bought and shipped to the army in 2022. Over 500 units of new models of weapons and military hardware were supplied by Belarusian manufacturers alone.

On 17-20 May Minsk Arena is hosting the 11th international arms and defense technology expo MILEX 2023 and the 10th international scientific conference on military technology cooperation in the area of defense and security. The expo's thematic areas feature the entire range of technologies designed to take care of state defense and security.

The expo has been organized by the State Authority for Military Industry, the Defense Ministry, the exhibition company BelExpo, and the Belarus President Property Management Directorate.
