Opinion: Scientific achievements improve the quality of manufacturing process, life in general

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) - Scientific achievements enhance the quality of both manufacturing process and our life in general, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus (Gosstandart) Valentin Tataritsky said as he visited the Intellectual Belarus expo together with head of the Russian Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) Anton Shalaev, BelTA learned from the press service of the State Committee for Standardization.

The delegation of Rosstandart has arrived in Belarus on a visit. The parties considered the agenda of the Council of Heads of National Standardization Bodies of the EAEU member states. They discussed in detail the procedure of mandatory assessment of the scientific and technical level of the EAEU technical regulations and lists of standards that came into force. Attention was also paid to bilateral cooperation in the field of standardization, including interaction through the national technical committees on standardization.

After that, the Russian delegation accompanied by their Belarusian counterparts paid a visit to the exhibition of scientific and technical achievements Intellectual Belarus. The representatives of Rosstandart got familiar with the latest developments in artificial intelligence, IT-technologies, innovative instrumentation, electric transport, aircraft, ecology, agro-industrial complex, medicine, etc. “The developments of the Gosstandart institutes – Belarusian State Institute of Metrology and Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification – were of great interest. These were the national standards of the coefficient and angle of scale conversion units of sinusoidal voltage and current, length units in the nanometer range, a 3D model of a radio beech chamber for testing industrial products and vehicles on the parameters of electromagnetic compatibility,” the Gosstandart said.

According to Valentin Tataritsky, the exhibition demonstrates the achievements of the country and highly intellectual level of the people of our scientific and engineering environment. “Today we see worthy results of our scientists and engineers in electronics, electric transport, production management systems, medicine, agriculture and food production. All these results, and many of them have already found practical application, improve the quality of manufacturing process, products and our lives. The fact that Belarusian State Institute of Metrology and Belarusian State Institute of Standardization and Certification presented their scientific achievements at the exhibition emphasizes the contribution of our institutes to the intellectual potential of the country,” he said.
