MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Europe has discredited itself within just a month, losing everything humanistic that it had, chief of the BALTNEWS news agency, political scientist Andrei Starikov told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.
“The conflict is reaching a political dimension, and this is done deliberately, through the Poles and Lithuanians. The military are pulling NATO there. No one cares about ordinary people. We could see how Europe discredited itself within just a month, losing everything humane that it had. The lofty rhetoric about rights, freedoms and the protection of people is now gone,” Andrei Starikov said.
Meanwhile, Belarus is acting differently and is providing the necessary assistance to the refugees. “The Belarusian side, being under tremendous pressure, cares about ordinary people and is trying to somehow protect them. Belarus is providing humanitarian aid and medical care, helping to establish makeshift camps, and is warning the international community against politicizing the situation and turning the blind eye to the plight of ordinary people,” the expert said.
