Opinion: Belarusians will not want to lose independence, sovereignty

MINSK, 14 July (BelTA) - Belarusians are a sensible nation, and they will not want to lose their independence and sovereignty, Chief of Staff - Deputy Commander of the Independent Battalion of Communications of the 60th Independent Regiment, Major Yevgeny Tereshko told BelTA.

“Making my choice, I will take into account everything that has already been done over the years. Take a look at today's Belarusian cities. Much attention is paid to the development of towns, villages and agriculture. One should vote for the person who has shown himself in practice. I have a negative attitude to all the attempts to destabilize the situation in the country. All these fake news on the internet are aimed at undermining our stability, disrupting the election campaign and introducing someone from outside. I think we have sensible people and they will not want to lose their independence and sovereignty. I will vote for stability,” said Yevgeny Tereshko.

Recalling the 1990s, the chief of staff stressed that he remembers that time very well. “I was a kid, but I saw how my parents lived then. Salaries were miserly. Now the parents can afford more, including a holiday at the seaside. A lot has changed during this time. I have nothing to complain about either. I have a good salary. As a military, I has been given a loan for housing construction with an interest rate at 5%. At the moment I am a member of the cooperative housing society. The construction will soon begin. I am currently living in a rented housing, which cost is partially compensated. Thus, assistance and support are visible,” he said.
