Opinion: Belarus has everything one may need for a decent life

MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - Today Belarus has everything to make sure that every person lives a decent life, Lilia Ananich, Deputy Chairperson of the Belarusian Union of Women, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Commission on Human Rights, National Relations and Mass Media of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, told BelTA after attending the women's forum For Belarus on 17 September.

“Women want to tell everyone that Belarus cannot be a territory of discord, instability, a country that is torn apart by contradictions. Today we have everything so that every person, every family could live a decent life, so that our children could grow up, receive education, so that we could meet every day with joy and develop our country. Today, when our country is at such a crucial stage, when Belarusians made their choice, we want to say loudly at our women's forum that we are for the President, for peace, tranquility, stability, for progressive development, for our beloved Belarus,” said Lilia Ananich.

The MP stressed that minors should be out of protest events. “I believe that every sane person cannot look at it calmly. This is recklessness, irresponsibility, a demonstration of weakness when parents hide behind their children. I am sure that the state will be able to bring to reason such parents. It is very important for us, women, not to stay indifferent to such facts and such families. We need to take a look at those moms. We need to tell them: "Mothers, parents, do not involve children, take care of them. When you take your children to the square, you destroy their souls, their mental health. After taking part in protests, they go to school, to their peers, and you teach them not unity, but aggression,” she said.

Lilia Ananich added: “Women are for Belarus, for peace. We have won and we will not give our victory away to anyone.”

The women's forum For Belarus was held at Minsk Arena on 17 September. Attending it were about 13,000 women from across Belarus.
