The youth of Lida sent a written request to the personal Instagram account of Chairman of the Lida District Executive Committee Sergei Lozhechnik to set up a skate park in the city. Sergei Lozhechnik decided to back the initiative and set up a park with at least a basic set of elements needed for extreme sports. The executive committee allocated the necessary funds from the local budget. A modern skate park opened in Lida five months later.
