MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – The National Airport Minsk is introducing a self-service bag drop system, Director of the Aviation Department of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry Artem Sikorsky told the STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“The National Airport Minsk is now introducing a self-service bag drop system. It will be up and running in the near future. Thus, passengers will not only be able to board a plane on their own, but also to use non-assisted bag drop. These solutions will also be available in our regional airports in the future,” Artem Sikorsky said.

Apart from that, work is underway to renovate the existing airport terminal complex to increase its capacity. “Design specifications and estimates to build a new terminal on the territory of the airport are now in the works. We are to embark on the construction after the 2nd European Games 2019 and will finish the work by the ice hockey championship in 2021,” he informed.
