MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - What happened on the border with Ukraine is an act of aggression, which should be met with an appropriate response, Nikolai Buzin, a member of the House of Representatives, told BelTA.
"The events that took place on the border with Ukraine show that they are not leaving us alone. Certain forces are trying to rock the boat and escalate the situation. The attack on our territory with the help of drones is an act of aggression, which should be met with an appropriate response from our armed forces," Nikolai Buzin said.
The leadership of the Republic of Belarus is doing everything necessary to ensure peace on our land. "Appropriate steps are being taken, defenses are reinforced. We are ready to live in peace with everyone, but we will not allow attacks on our country from any side," the MP emphasized.
"We want to live in peace with all our neighbors. But we will always defend our own territory. We have the forces and means to do so. If they try to attack us, we will respond accordingly. This has been said many times," Nikolai Buzin added. “Today all necessary measures have been taken to cover this direction from the military point of view and to ensure the peaceful life of our citizens".
As it has been reported, on 9 August, the air defense forces on duty detected unidentified air objects traveling from the territory of Ukraine towards the Republic of Belarus. In order to timely suppress a possible violation of the airspace of the Republic of Belarus, the designated forces and means were put on standby No. 1 in due time. After crossing the state border, the aerial targets were classified as unmanned aerial vehicles and were destroyed.
