MINSK, 1 November (BelTA) –Moldova is interested in studying the Belarusian experience of forest management. Moldovan Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development, and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc made the statement as he visited the Belarusian national forest breeding and seed production center, the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry told BelTA.
In his words, the experience of Belarusian wood growers deserves close attention and can be useful for Moldova. “I am impressed by what I've seen in Belarus. For now Moldova lacks much of what we've seen but we are going to develop an action plan to embrace Belarusian forest management practices. Primarily forest restoration and selection technologies, the cultivation of ornamental plants for beautification purposes. We have a small area under forests but we intend to make it larger. This is why your experience is very valuable for us,” said Nicolae Ciubuc.
Belarusian Forestry Minister Vitaly Drozhzha took the Moldovan delegation on a tour of the national forest breeding and seed production center. The minister also talked about approaches to forest management and forest harvesting, about scientific research and technologies used in the sphere of forest industry.
