Minsk to host Teatralny Koufar 2018 festival on 19-28 September

MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian State University has opened applications for the participation in the 15th international student theater festival Teatralny Koufar 2018 BDU which is due to take place in Minsk on 19-28 September, BelTA learned from the press service of the university.

The applications are open through 1 March, inclusively. The festival is organized by the cultural department of the Belarusian State University. The event supports the international youth festival movement and popularizes student amateur artistic creativity.

Last year taking part in the festival were 21 university theaters from nine countries: Belarus, Russia, the UK, Poland, Serbia, Chile, Bulgaria, Philippines, and Tunisia. Belarus was represented by seven theater companies. More than 200 artists took part in the competition.

The international student theater festival Teatralny Koufar was first held in 2004 with a view to unite talented youth from around the world. Theater companies from 45 countries have participated in the forum since its opening. The festival is Belarus' only international student theater festival and one of the most famous festivals in Eastern Europe.
