Minsk to host motherhood forum on 14-15 November

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – The 6th forum called as Sanctity of Motherhood will bring together more than 500 participants from 11 countries, including Belarus, Russia, Serbia, the United States, China, Iran, Bulgaria, Israel and Poland to discuss the theme “Family in the modern world: importance, trends and prospects. The event will be held in Minsk on 14-15 November, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Belarus.

The event is organized by the St Andrew the First-Called Foundation (Russia) together with the Karic brothers foundation (Serbia) with the support of the Minsk City Hall and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Belarus. “Belarus has been chosen to host the event due to its active efforts to develop public-public partnership in the field of family support. Developing an enabling environment for the birth and upbringing of children, increasing the level and quality of life for families with children is one of the main tasks for the Belarus-Russia Union State up to 2020. “Achieving these targets suggests conducting coherent policies to strengthen the family institution, socio-ethical and spiritual values as the basis of the demographic well-being of Russia and Belarus. The forum will draw together foreign delegations, government members and religious figures, community leaders, academics, businessmen, journalists and experts,” the ministry said.

The forum aims to promote the exchange of experiences and practical solutions to help enhance the vitality of the family in the modern world. The two-day forum will include plenary meetings and discussion sections to discuss family-oriented initiatives in various fields and to understand social, economic, cultural and spiritual and moral conditions of family life in the modern world.

The program includes a seminar for psychologists and obstetrician specialists entitled as Family Reproductive Health: Modern Medical, Psychological, Social and Ethic Aspects and a seminar to discuss the experience and prospects for developing family-oriented media projects.

Launched by the St Andrew the First-Called Foundation in 2006, the Sanctity of Motherhood program is designed to restore the potential of the family as the fundamental public institution. It envisages social and psychological support to expecting women and young mothers in a difficult situation, educational activities with the youth, events to consolidate family values in public conscience and information space.
