Minsk to host Leisure 2021 expo on 23-25 April

MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – The 23rd edition of the international spring expo of tourism services “Leisure 2021” will be running in Minsk on 23-25 April, head of the innovative and technological projects department of the BelExpo national exhibition center Marina Prozorova told a news conference on 16 April, BelTA has learned.

“We will enforce all safety measures at the expo to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The organizers have taken into account all recommendations of the Healthcare Ministry and the Minsk City Hall. Stands presented at the expo will stand apart, walkways between expositions will also be wide enough to allow social distancing. All visitors and participants will receive face masks and will have their temperature taken in the registration zone,” Marina Prozorova said.

Speaking about novelties of the expo, Marina Prozorova noted that this year's edition will feature the maiden Leisure&Travel workshop. “The event will include negotiations between representatives of tourism business, tour operators and other providers of tourism services,” she explained. The Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry and the National Tourism Agency will unveil busy programs.

According to Director of the Tourism Department at the Sport and Tourism Ministry Irina Voronovich, the expo will be interesting for professionals and for people from other walks of life. “We are working together with Belarusian regions to help them market their identities. In 2021, we have developed new routes, trademarks, and activities in various avenues of tourism. Travel agents and tour operators, especially those that want to gear to the domestic market, will have a great opportunity to communicate with representatives of Belarusian regions at the expo. Tourists will be able to learn about new fascinating tours and destinations,” she noted.

The National Tourism Agency will install a special screen to test its route planning application. “Visitors will be able to map out a route to travel to cultural and historical landmarks by bicycle, car, or public transport,” Irina Voronovich added.

The Leisure 2021 expo will also promote agroecotourism options, feature hours of culture of foreign countries (for example, India, Turkey, Bulgaria), and roundtable meetings.

The international spring expo of tourism services “Leisure 2021” is organized by the BelExpo national exhibition center in association with the Belarusian Sport and Tourism Ministry. The exhibition will take place at 14 Pobeditelei Avenue in Minsk on 23-25 April.
