Minsk to host international conference on culture and arts on 12-13 September

MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – The international conference “Traditions and Current State of Culture and Arts” will be held at the Center of Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus on 12-13 September, BelTA has learned from the NASB press service.

Leading experts from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Moldova, and the UK are expected to participate in the conference. The goal of the conference is to discuss the role of scientific research in architecture, fine and decorative arts, theater, music, photography, cinematography, and screen arts in addressing current issues of modern culture. The participants will also focus on systemic approaches to preserve ethnic cultures and historic and cultural heritage in the face of globalization.

The forum will be attended by scholars from the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, the Institute of Archaeology, the Slavic Studies Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the University of London, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research of Moldova, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University, Kiev National University of Culture and Arts, and the National Kiev-Pechersk Historical and Cultural Preserve and many others.

The program of the event will also include a roundtable “Belarusian concert performing art in the context of world culture” and a showcasing of Belarusian folk calendar documentaries.
