Minsk to host exhibition on CIS countries' contribution to WWII victory

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – The exhibition “Our Common Victory” will go on display in the Hall of Glory of the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History in Minsk on 17 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The exhibition will illustrate the contribution of the CIS member states to the Great Victory. It will make visitors familiar with the battles of Moscow, Stalingrad, and Kursk, the Belarusian offensive Operation Bagration, and the Berlin Strategic Offensive Operation. The exhibition will also demonstrate materials about the partisan movement, the life in the Soviet rear, and the development of print media.

The exhibition was initiated by the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS member states to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It was organized with participation of the Museum of the Great Patriotic War History and the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex. The opening ceremony will feature the permanent representatives of the CIS member states, representatives of foreign embassies in Belarus, senior officials of the CIS Executive Committee, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Belarusian Culture Ministry.
