Minsk, Shanghai to advance friendly ties

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Minsk and Shanghai have signed an agreement on intent to establish friendly ties, the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee told BelTA.

The document was signed by Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets and Shanghai Vice Mayor Xu Kunlin during the China International Import Expo 2018.

Presentations of the Minsk Pass project, the export, investment, and tourism potential of Belarus and Minsk also took place in China.

Belarus' national exposition during the China International Import Expo 2018 opened in the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on 6 November. The Belarusian exposition features the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone, the National Agency of Investment and Privatization (NAIP), the Transport and Communications Ministry, the Industry Ministry, Belarusian Potash Company, Belkommunmash, the State Science and Technology Committee, and the Education Ministry.

The China International Import Expo 2018 will last till 10 November. Taking part in the expo are over 2,800 companies from 130 countries. The Minsk-based companies include the confectionary company Kommunarka, the bakery company Minskhlebprom, the tractor manufacturer MTZ, the truck and bus manufacturer MAZ, the microchip company Integral, and Minsk Dairy Plant No.1.
