MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – A twinning agreement between Minsk and Shanghai was signed during Minsk Days in Shanghai, BelTA learned from the Consulate General of Belarus in Shanghai.
The document was signed by Minsk Deputy Mayor Aleksandr Krepak and Shanghai Vice Mayor Xu Kunlin. The parties discussed Belarus' participation in the 2nd China International Import Expo in Shanghai and outlined priority areas of cooperation, including trade, infrastructure development, tourism, and the IT sector.
During Minsk Days in Shanghai, Chinese cinema-goers were invited to watch Belarusian films. The Shanghai Conservatory of Music hosted a concert of the Belarusian State Academy of Music and the photo exhibition A Journey to Minsk. Representatives of healthcare, education, and social security committees of the Minsk City Hall visited relevant institutions and facilities of Shanghai to exchange best practices.
The Minsk-Shanghai business forum held as part of Minsk Days brought together around 100 Belarusian and Chinese enterprises and companies. The parties also signed a memorandum to establish friendly relations between Moskovsky District of Minsk and Jiading District of Shanghai.
The delegation of Minsk met with Shanghai's Changning District Governor Wang Lan to discuss ways to strengthen friendly ties between Changning District and Sovetsky District of Minsk.
The visit of the Minsk City Hall delegation and Minsk Days in Shanghai were organized with the support of the Consulate General of Belarus in Shanghai, the Foreign Affairs Office of Shanghai, and the People's Government of Changning District.More about Society
