Minsk National Airport to take temperature of visitors, arrivals

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Passengers will get a temperature check at the entrance to Minsk National Airport, BelTA learned from the press service of the airport.

“As of 28 January, a pilot temperature screening system will become operational at Minsk National Airport,” the press service noted.

Visitors will be allowed into the airport only through several entrances featuring new temperature screening equipment.

If the equipment detects passengers with elevated temperature, they will be invited to undergo a medical examination.

The new equipment for Minsk National Airport was purchased thanks to the WHO financial assistance. It includes thermal cameras and high-precision detectors that provide a person's image and take their temperature.

One set of such equipment has been installed in the arrival zone of international flights. Arrivals to Belarus will be required to undergo the temperature screening before passport control.
