MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – The passenger traffic at Minsk National Airport soared by 12.9% in H1 019 as against H1 2018, BelTA has learned from the website of the airport.
In H1 2019 Minsk National Airport accommodated 2.2 million passengers. A total of 13,324 flights took off at the airport in H1, which was up 9.8% from the same period in 2018.
In June, the airport accomodated 507,646 passengers, up 9.6% year-on-year. Last month it handled 2,703 flights (up 8.9%).
The airport informed about the production indicators during the 2nd European Games. “According to the border authorities, 73% of athletes and guests arrived in the country through the border crossing point at Minsk National Airport. During the period 19 June - 1 July 2019 the airport handled 390,101 passengers, which was up 78% against the same period a year prior,” the statement reads. During the designated period the airport handled over 2,458 flights, which was up 11% year-on-year. During the European Games the airport handled a record high number of flights: 208 flights on 21 June and 20,276 passengers on 1 July.
