Minsk Card for 2nd European Games on sale now

MINSK, 10 December (BelTA) – The Minsk Card specifically designed for the 2nd European Games are on sale now, Alexander Shifrin, the head of the Guest Card center of the Mingorspravka company, told BelTA.

The special edition of the Minsk Card will be valid for 10 days (240 hours) and will cost Br16.5 Its holders will be entitled to discounts of 10% to 64% on visits to museums of Minsk and its surroundings, aquapark and excursions. Within three years after purchasing the card its holders will be entitled to 5-20% discounts on goods and services in hotels, restaurants and cafes, stores, car and bicycle rentals.

Alexander Shifrin noted that the Minsk Card of the 2nd European Games will be activated on 17 June, in the run-up to the important international event. “We provide an opportunity for athletes and fans to plan their stay in Belarus in advance,” said Alexander Shifrin.

The tourist project “Minsk Card. Cities&Regions of Belarus” is implemented by Mingorspravka with support of the Sports and Tourism Ministry, Culture Ministry, the Minsk city administration and Minsk region authorities and the Minsk Tourist Center in line with the tourism promotion program Hospitable Belarus for 2016-2020. Taking part in the project are museums, galleries, zoos, water parks, hotels, restaurants, cafes, shopping centers, car and bicycle rentals that offer bonuses and discounts.

When the project was launched, it incorporated 74 facilities of Minsk and the region. However, now it features over 200 tourist attractions all over the country. Their number will rise to exceed 1,000 by the new tourist season. The Minsk Card will be available in sales points and online. The 2nd European Games will take place in Minsk on 20-30 June 2019. Athletes will compete in about 200 medal events in 15 sports. The competitions in nine sports will offer qualification opportunities for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Competitions in badminton, boxing, canoe sprint and judo will be held in the format of European championships.
