Minister: Сentral district polyclinics in Belarus will be equipped with CT scanners soon

GOMEL, 21 July (BelTA) - All the central district polyclinics in Belarus will be equipped with CT scanners in the next month and a half, Belarus' Healthcare Minister Vladimir Karanik told reporters, BelTA has learned.

The minister recalled that recently Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and businessman Mikhail Gutseriev have reached a personal agreement on the supply of ten CT scanners to Belarus. According to Vladimir Karanik, two scanners will be installed in hospitals, and eight in the central district polyclinics of Minsk. “Thus, all the central polyclinics in the Belarusian capital will have CT scanners in the next month and a half,” he stressed.

Vladimir Karanik noted that the construction and modernization of healthcare facilities in Belarus continues. Some 250 facilities have been built or upgraded in the last five years.

As it has been reported, the first CT scanner out of ten has already been installed in the new neurological unit of Minsk Clinical Hospital No.5. The 128-slice scanner provides high-quality images for any category of patients.
