NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Deployment of a S-400 air defense missile system will strengthen the defense capabilities of Belarus, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said in a video posted on the Telegram channel of the Defense Ministry of Belarus, BelTA has learned.
"Within the framework of military and technical cooperation between Belarus and Russia, we have received another S-400 Triumph. This system will not only strengthen the air defense of our country but will also be important for protecting the borders of the Union State," Viktor Khrenin said.
The defense minister mentioned the negative trends in the development of the military-political situation. In support of his words, he recalled the aggressive rhetoric of the leadership of Western countries and the plans by Poland and the Baltic countries to beef up their military potential. "In this context, it is vital for us to make decision to strengthen the defense capabilities of our state," the defense minister stressed.
One of these decisions, Viktor Khrenin added, is the deployment of a S-400 system and other modern samples of weapons and military armor.
