On average, almost 600,000 people used the metro every day (over 800,000 in 2019). “The metro accounts for 36.4% of passenger traffic, more than any other means of public transportation in the city,” the Minsk Metro informed.
In 2020, the busiest stations were Kamennaya Gorka (more than 17.788 million people), Lenin Square (over 13.738 million), Uruchie (over 13.418 million people). ), Yakub Kolas Square (almost 12.304 million), Malinovka (over 10.886 million) and Academy of Sciences (over 10.021 million).
In incomplete November and December 2020, the third metro line handled more than 483,000 passengers.
Tokens were used by 32% of passengers, contactless metro cards by 7.9%, contactless cards of Minsktrans by 35.7%, contactless bank cards by 14.7%.
