Mass Media in Belarus expo to feature presentation of China-Belarus Year of Tourism on 4 May

MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) – A presentation of the China-Belarus Year of Tourism will take place as part of the 22nd international expo Mass Media in Belarus on 4 May, BelTA has learned.

Chen Weiwei, Councilor and Press Officer of the Embassy of China in Belarus, and Director of the Tourism Department of the Belarusian Sports and Tourism Ministry Andrei Molchan are expected to take part in the presentation. They will explain why the decision to launch the China-Belarus Year of Tourism campaign was made and will present Belarus' tourism potential. Belarus' role in China's foreign trade and foreign policy will be sketched out as well as interaction in tourism and tourist traffic between the two countries.

The Mass Media in Belarus expo opened today to last through 5 May. The expo will be full of various events. Presentations of regional mass media of Belarus will take place on 4 May. A roundtable session dedicated to the Year of Native Land will be arranged. Visitors will be able to participate in trivia games, take entertaining tests, and go on a virtual tour of the country courtesy of belarus.by.

Fans of chess will be able to compete against a genuine champion at BelTA's stand on 5 May. BelTA's photo artists Sergei Kholodilin and Oksana Manchuk will offer a master class in photography.

This year's Mass Media in Belarus expo has gathered over 50 exhibitors. They represent about 400 mass media from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, China, Turkey, and other countries. It is the first time that mass media from the city of Salekhard, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, Russia have been represented during the expo. The exhibition area exceeds 1,000m2.

The forum reflects the entire spectrum of the country's mass media industry. It features printed and audiovisual national and regional mass media, websites, news agencies, cable television providers and distribution companies, distributors of printed products, and publishing houses. National and regional printed and digital mass media as well as specialized and agency-sponsored editions, newspapers published by universities and industrial enterprises, scientific organizations have prepared their own expositions.
