Large-scale combat readiness test kicks off in Belarusian army

MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – A surprise combat readiness test has begun in Belarus' Armed Forces, BelTA learned from Belarus' Defense Ministry.

“In accordance with the order of the defense minister, a comprehensive combat readiness test of Belarus' Armed Forces kicked off on 30 January under the supervision of the Chief of the General Staff and the First Deputy Minister of Defense. The main goal of the test is to assess the capability of the military command to control their subordinate military units and to evaluate the readiness of the military units to tackle the assigned tasks in a fast-changing environment,” informed the ministry.

The Armed Forces will be tested both at military training grounds and in cordoned-off areas. Considering the requirements of the assigned tasks, the army will need to operate in various settings. They will have to cross water barriers and accomplish combat training missions day and night both in forests and in settlements.

Great emphasis will be placed on the condition of the military equipment and weapons and also on the efficiency of the enabling systems.

Test results will be analyzed and used for further training of Belarus' Armed Forces.
