KGB: Up to 70,000 people involved in information war against Belarus

MINSK, 4 August (BelTA) - Up to 70,000 people are involved in the information warfare against Belarus. Chairman of the State Security Committee of Belarus (KGB) Ivan Tertel made the statement in a series of documentaries titled as Belarus Against Color Revolution. The first episode was aired by the Belarusian TV channel STV on 4 August, BelTA has learned.

“According to our (and not only our) estimates, some 50,000-70,000 people are currently working in the information space against Belarus. I are talking about the centers of information confrontation of the Armed Forces of the United States, other Western countries and Ukraine,” said Ivan Tertel.

The KGB also revealed close cooperation between the Ukrainian units of the information warfare with their Polish and Lithuanian colleagues, as well as coordination between specialists in carrying out information operations against Belarus.
