MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) – The internal situation is totally under control, but the external developments remain a matter of concern, Belarus' Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs- Commander of the Internal Troops Nikolai Karpenkov said on the air of the ONT TV channel, BelTA informs.

“The internal situation is under complete control. Of course, the external contours are alarming. We see how the special military operation is developing, what statements these neo-Nazi escapees are making there against this background, what plans they are contemplating to overthrow the current government by force. We see NATO troops on the border. Of course, this worries us,” said Nikolai Karpenkov.

Internal troops are the main striking force of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the deputy minister noted. “And, of course, they are part and parcel of the national security system,” he stressed. “I want to say that in order to prevent another year 2020, we will be carefully watching what is happening with our neighbors. If someone says that they will strike at us and they have this Peramoha plan, we will respond in the most democratic way that we see in the neighboring countries. Let them be ready for it,” he said.
