Jon Ola Sand: Minsk Arena well-suited for senior version of Eurovision

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – Minsk Arena is good enough to host the senior version of the Eurovision Song Contest, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest Jon Ola Sand told the media on 22 November, BelTA has learned.

“I am happy with the stage, sound and light at Minsk Arena. The whole team works very smoothly. This arena can host the adults' version of the Eurovision Song Contest as the hall is quite spacious. Let us hold the Junior Eurovision here first and then we will think over other projects,” said Jon Ola Sand.

In his words, the Light Up slogan corresponds well to the event. The atmosphere of the contest and the main stage are vibrant and energetic. The slogan of the 2018 Junior Eurovision speaks for itself. All the participants demonstrate the best of their abilities on the stage because they are very talented, the executive director of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest said.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Minsk Arena on 25 November. Daniel Yastremski will perform eighth. He will sing the song “Time”.

The Belarus 1 and Belarus 24 channels will broadcast the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. It will also be aired on the official website of Belteleradiocompany at www.tvr.by and on the Eurovision official website at www.junioreurovision.tv.

Besides, all the details about the children's song contest will be available in the newsreels and the Light up! Diaries aired on the Belarus 1 at 20.55 on weekdays, and at 17.35 on Sundays.

The organizer and coordinator of the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest is the Belteleradiocompany as the country's only member of the European Broadcasting Union.
