MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – Children from Japan, Syria, Vietnam, China, Egypt, India, and Poland will spend this summer in Belarus for the purposes of recreation as part of international cooperation programs. The statement was made by Eduard Tomilchik, Head of the Central Office for Nurture Work and Youth Policy of the Belarusian Education Ministry, in BelTA's press center on 14 May.

The Belarusian children education and recreation center Zubrenok is widely known as an international children cooperation center. The center's work contributes to Belarus' stronger image in the international scene. So far it has welcomed representatives of 45 countries.

According to Eduard Tomilchik, the center has been entrusted with welcoming and organizing the recreation of children from other countries upon invitations of the Belarus president. For seven years the Zubrenok center has offered recreation to Japanese children from the areas affected by the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident and the ensuing tsunami. The center has offered recreation services to children from Syria since 2017. The organization of recreation and rehabilitation services for children from the People's Republic of China is becoming a good tradition. The list of countries, whose kids will be offered recreation in Belarus, was expanded in 2019.

The official noted that parents of children from any country can buy a holiday package and visit Belarus. Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population Gennady Bolbatovsky clarified that citizens of Baltic states often avail themselves of the opportunity. “We expect that the visa-free travel period will be extended in the second half of the year. Summer camps in Grodno Oblast and Brest Oblast will be able to easily welcome kids for recreation for two weeks,” Gennady Bolbatovsky noted.
