Interior minister: Any revolution and chaos lead to decline

MINSK, 14 August (BelTA) – Any revolution and chaos result in declining living standards, Belarus' Minister of Internal Affairs Yuri Karayev said as he appeared on the ONT TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Any revolution, any chaos (thanks God, it has not gone that far here) lead to decline: the economy comes to a standstill, law enforcement agencies stop working. We have always been proud of the peace in Belarus maintained by our law enforcement agencies. All the neighboring countries envied us, including those who were ahead of us economically and in other ways,” Yuri Karayev said.

In his words, “our security and peace were a matter of envy for all”. “Why are we ruining it, for what evanescent, unclear future goals? What do we want to improve? We will only make it worse, we will destroy everything we were proud of,” the minister said.
