MOGILEV, 25 April (BelTA) – The work to integrate the Belarusian nuclear power plant into the national power grid has reached its active phase, BelTA learned from Belarusian Energy Minister Viktor Karankevich.
The official stressed that the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is the most important project for the country's power engineering industry. The nuclear power plant's integration into the power grid is the second most important one. Measures are being taken in anticipation of the nuclear power plant launch. Electric heaters are being installed and peak and backup energy sources are being constructed. Feasibility studies have been carried out for the sake of installing electric heaters. Architectural designs accommodating electric heaters have been made. Tenders have been held to install electric heaters in some places. Two electric heaters with the output capacity of 20MW each have been bought for cogeneration plant No.2 in Mogilev and two 15MW electric heaters have been bought for the Bobruisk cogeneration plant. They will be commissioned in Q1 2020.
