MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – Belarus hopes that Belarusians will be allowed to travel in transit via Russia by any means of transportation, BelTA learned from Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 20 March.
Vladimir Makei said: “We hope that a clear and concrete decision will be made that will allow Belarusian citizens to come back to the home country from the remote locations they have gone to thanks to Russian travel agencies. We also hope that Belarusian citizens will be allowed to cross Russia in transit using all kinds of transportation.”
Vladimir Makei remarked that such a decision would be compliant with regulations of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and the relevant agreements on equal rights of citizens of Belarus and Russia.
According to Vladimir Makei, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies tightly cooperate with Russian partners as they help Belarusians come back home via the Russian territory.
