GRODNO, 14 March (BelTA) – A Belarusian language and culture summer program will be organized at Yanka Kupala Grodno State University for the first time ever, BelTA learned from the university's press service.
The courses will be open from 5 to 18 August at the university library.
“We will be happy to enroll both foreign nationals and Belarusian citizens. The summer program is aimed at those beginning to study the Belarusian language and culture and those who want to go deeper,” the press service said.
During the two-week-long courses, the students will attend Belarusian language classes, go on tours of Grodno Oblast landmarks, learn more about Belarusian traditions, and visit master classes. They are also set to go to museums, visit the historical center of Grodno, watch Belarusian films, and sing Belarusian karaoke songs.
The Grodno-based university has been organizing Russian language winter and summer courses for several years. They bring together dozens of foreign nationals every year, among them students, graduates, professors, journalists, engineers, businessmen, employees of large European companies and representatives of the European Parliament. In the past years, the courses were attended by citizens of Czechia, Slovenia, the USA, the UK, Belgium, Germany, Iraq, Cameroon, Canada, China, Poland, Slovakia, the USA, France, Japan, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Pakistan, and Sweden.
In October 2017, Yanka Kupala Grodno State University launched a two-week Russian language program for Chinese citizens: the Chinese embassy staff, representatives of the Gansu Provincial Highway Aviation Tourism Investment Group, Gansu Public Health Department, and Gansu Province Department.More about Society
