Grodno to launch mobile tourist guide

GRODNO, 8 December (BelTA) – A mobile application with information for tourists will be launched in Grodno, BelTA learned from head of the sport and tourism department of the Grodno City Hall Yevgeny Arod.

The application will soon be available for download. It will be in three languages: Russian, Polish, and English.

“The app will contain all relevant information for tourists: maps, locations and images of all landmarks of the city, history, and additional information. The app will also show cultural establishments, stores, catering facilities, hotels, and hostels,” Yevgeny Arod noted. He stressed that the mobile guide will be able to operate both online and offline. As many as 80% of its functions will be available without the internet connection.

The mobile application is designed both for foreign and domestic tourists. The guide will help visitors of the city, especially independent travelers, explore the city better, without missing something interesting. The application is also expected to improve the city's image and, perhaps, even prompt some people to come there, Yevgeny Arod added.

The ongoing pandemic has dealt a heavy blow to the tourism sector throughout the globe. Grodno is using the downtime to develop new products that it will offer tourists after the pandemic. By the way, foreign nationals can visit Grodno without a visa.
