GOMEL, 25 May (BelTA) – A new format of the international exhibition Spring in Gomel 2020, which kicked off on 25 May, will let study the potential of the south-eastern region of the country from any part of the world, Gomel Oblast Governor Gennady Solovei said in his welcome speech to the participants and guests of the exhibition, BelTA has learned.
This year the Spring in Gomel exhibition will be held in a virtual format. The expo will be placed on the website vesna.ccigomel.by and will stay open through 10 June. The principles of the project will remain the same, i.e. to present the economic potential of one of the largest regions of Belarus, as well as proposals from foreign partners.
Gennady Solovei is convinced in the priority of live communication, but emphasizes the need to follow the technological advance. In his view, it is necessary to do everything possible to further social and economic strengthening of the region and the welfare of its residents in the new realities. “Today we are opening a new modern dialogue platform in the region, which in a few seconds will take you from anywhere in the world to the hospitable Gomel, literally saving time and money, will give the most complete picture of the producers and products of the region,” he said.
According to Gennady Solovei, it is important that the largest regional exhibition will be held despite the difficult epidemiological situation in the country and the world. “It shows loyalty to traditions, hope for a speedy return to normal life and - what is especially important for me - the fact that our enterprises continue to work and produce sought-after goods,” the governor said.
Over the past 20 years, the brand exhibition has been and remains not so much a commercial event for the region but a landmark political event. The Spring in Gomel brings together diplomats and businessmen from different countries. “Perhaps the new format will give the opportunity, albeit a virtual one, to significantly expand the audience of visitors to the exhibition of goods and services of Gomel manufacturers. Presentation business cards of enterprises and their products will help in this,” the Gomel Oblast governor said.
Gennady Solovei wished the exhibitors and guests of the international exhibition Spring in Gomel interesting and useful findings with the prospect of mutually beneficial contracts, and the organizers - results that far exceed expectations.
The Spring in Gomel exhibition has become a business card of Gomel Oblast, the most significant event of the region, which involves the authorities of the oblast and the city, members of the government, heads of diplomatic missions, chambers of commerce and industry and business representatives. In 2019, 300 Belarusian and foreign companies presented their products on the area of more than 5,000 square meters. Spring in Gomel was visited by foreign delegations from 32 countries.
The event is organized by the Gomel branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee and the Gomel City Hall.
