MOGILEV, 13 May (BelTA) - Mogilev Oblast Governor Anatoly Isachenko has outlined three key tasks for the successful development of the region, BelTA has learned.
During the meeting of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee to discuss the region's performance in the first quarter, Anatoly Isachenko named three key tasks for the region. “Stable work of the real economy, active investment policy and solution of the most important issues that concern the population: income, housing and utilities, roads, healthcare,” he emphasized.
According to the governor, the situation in the region remains stable and manageable. “According to the H1 2023 results, Mogilev Oblast met four out of seven targets. These are nominal average monthly wages (116.3%), total revenues to the consolidated budget (119.9%), import substitution production ($257.4 million) and housing commissioning (52,300 square meters),” Anatoly Isachenko said.

According to the Mogilev Oblast governor, it is important that household incomes increased both in nominal and real terms. “The level of real wages increased by 5.9%. Forced underemployment was reduced by 4.4 times,” he stressed. “Agriculture and the construction sector both show upward trends. However, industry, trade and transport performed below the same period last year. The use of capital investment was also lower than last year - 95.4%.”

Investment for the region means development, jobs, and wages. “I would like to remind chairpersons of the regional executive committees of their personal responsibility to implement investment projects within the instruction of the head of state. The results of their implementation will be the most important criterion for evaluating the work,” he said addressing the participants of the meeting.
The governor also assessed the performance of the industrial complex. “Here we need to pay attention to the stockpiles. This is the best season to work. One more important task for the regional economy is export growth. Objectively, we have not yet managed to compensate for all the losses. We need to work in this direction,” he said.

Attending the meeting were Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Sergeyenko, Belarus President's Aide - Inspector of Mogilev Oblast Leonid Martynyuk, representatives of the Economy Ministry, the country's leading companies, deputy corps and city executive committees.
